Lighting Installation FAQs

Common questions about new lighting points, fixtures, spotlights and outdoor lighting.
My new lamp doesn’t fit the ceiling outlet — can you fix that?
Yes. Many newer homes use the DCL standard, while older lamps may have a different plug or connection. In grounded installations, DCL is now the standard for ceiling light connections in Sweden.
Do I need a new lighting point, or can you use the existing one?
Often the existing point can be reused, but if the lamp is being moved or there is no suitable connection where you want it, new wiring or a new lighting point may be required. We assess this before starting.
Can you move the ceiling light so it sits above my table?
Yes, if the ceiling construction and electrical route allow it. The final price depends on how far the point needs to move and whether wiring can be concealed or needs to be surface-mounted.
Will my LED lights work with my existing dimmer?
Not always. The LED light must be dimmable and the dimmer must be compatible with that type of LED load. Using an incompatible combination can cause flickering or other electrical problems.
Can you install spotlights in my bathroom or other wet areas?
Yes, but the fixture must have the correct IP protection for its location and the installation must meet the requirements for wet areas.
